Use Water as a tool
Every Morning when my Husband and I go to the temple, we come back with some water in a small bottle (about 20 ml) and sprinkle it around our home. It is called 'punyahum' or pure water. It is said to be positively charged and we believe that sprinkling this would bring positivity to our home.
Indians have always considered water holy. It is part of the pancha-bhootas or 5 elements which in various combinations form everything from the earth to us humans.
The pancha-bhoota's are Prithvi (Earth), Vayu (Wind), Aakasha (Sky / Space), Aapaha / Jala (Water) and Agni (Fire).
Life on Earth started in Water. Our own life started in Amniotic fluid which is 99% water.
Humans are composed of 70% water. That means, we are almost 2/3 water! You will know we can survive without food far longer than we can survive without water.
Water is the purifier for the Hindus. Example: Taking bath is Ganges in supposed to remove all sins.
Hindus believe that water can be 'charged'. It is said that the power of the shlokas / chants during a pooja, create a vibration which will be absorbed by the water and thus charges it. This means water acts as a receptor.
That is the reason why in every pooja, you will find a pot filled with water. After the pooja, this water is sprinkled on all the devotees and also given as 'teertha' (holy water) for consumption. Every Deeparadhana in the temple, ends with this. Sprinkling of Holy water on the devotees.
Let us see how in India we used to take care of our water and water bodies.
We had a beautiful tradition of 'waking up the well', every morning.
Every kitchen in the old houses, would have an attached well for the various cooking and cleaning processes. The pulley in the old house was not made of wrought iron, but wood.
The below image of pulley is from Pathanapuram palace, but the stone / wooden ball in the middle is missing. This pulley used to be cranked up and down 2-3 times creating a racket, while the bucket was lowered into the well. This was called - 'Thudi thatti gangai unarthal' or waking up Ganga by the sound of the pulley.
Ganga, as you know is the most important river for Hindus. So each house used to consider it's well water as Ganga Jalam (water)!
Bath time also had a prayer for the water. We used to pray that the water poured over our head be a conglomeration of all the holy rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswathy, Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri.
(Ganga cha, Yamuna chaiva, Godavari, Saraswathy, Narmada, Sindhu, Kaveri, Jale smin Sannidhim Kuru.)
And grandmothers always used to advise youngsters to say a small prayer before consuming water given by others. Water was always consumed while sitting down, never standing up. And the glass was never sipped. Water used to be poured into our mouths from the vessel. This is mostly for hygienic reasons but foreigners find this amazing.
Indians would never spit into rivers and the provinces where anything 'wrong' (read: urinate/ defecate/ spit) was done to rivers, that society used to be ostracized. This is so far away from the present time where even the sewage gets deposited into the rivers.
It is mentioned in our ancient scriptures that 'kali yug' or the 'age of vice', is reaching it's crescendo when water starts getting sold. Water used to be a community affair and until the late 1980's bottled water was not available in India.
Traditionally, food served is to be purified with Ghee by the server and before eating the first morsel, the consumer would take water in his hand and offer a prayer. This is called - Parishechana Mantra. Water is a purifier and sipping water before and after food (Acamanam) signifies that water is the ultimate purifier and sustainer of the body. The yoga shastras recommend that we eat food to fill only half our stomach and one quarter of the stomach should be filled by drinking water. The rest should be air. Read more on Parishechana here.
This is from India. Let us see what the rest of the world has to say.
Let us see if any experiments to prove that water is indeed powerful and can be harnassed for personal gains has been conducted. I do not mean hydro-electricity or energy by separation of Hydrogen from Oxygen atoms; but on a bodily level like how the Vedas / Indian philosophy says.

Water Memory is a new term in the Western world. But a very old term for Indians. Sadhguru says, "Water has memory".
This term was first used in the West in the 1980's by French scientist Dr. Jacques Benveniste who died in 2004. His persistent belief was that water is an intelligent liquid and that water can remember events long after all trace of those events has vanished. This started off a controversy and he was termed a misfit.
Luc Montagnier - 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), is continuing this research. Try watching the experiment conducted by Dr.Montagnier. It is amazing and makes you wonder about the memory of water and the attitude of the scientific community. Is it fair for a scientist to be termed a 'misfit' if the results do not stick to the 'norm'?
Dr. Masaru Emoto, from Japan. He conducted 'experiments' and concluded that 'that human thoughts has an effect on the molecular structure of water.' And his experiments are available online but have not been (again) validated by the scientific community. He pasted words like Love, Gratitude, Appreciation, Hate, Kill etc on to bottles of Tokyo tap water. He then crystallized them and looked at them under a microscope. The positive affirmations saw the formation of beautiful crystal shapes. The negative words generated no real shape and some looked quite ugly.
This same experiment was repeated by school children and their parents. The result and their reactions are worth a watch.
As Dr. Emoto says, his 'experiments' are rued by 'scientists' as they cannot get the same result everytime. And scientific community only accepts results, if they get repeated in the same way every single time.
In this experiment, the scientist's thoughts need to be 'projected' on to the water. If the right thoughts are not projected, then the results do get affected. Thus these results are 'questioned'. Scientists can only control the environment around them but their mind and thoughts are not easily controlled. This will surely affect the results.
That is alright. We can always do the same experiments at home and see the results for ourselves.

I have only a single thing to say.
If we are made of 70% water, and water has a memory, why not think good thoughts while drinking this liquid which makes 2/3rd of our body weight?
Water is a repository of energy coming free from the environment. And it needs to be used wisely.
