With Mani.A.Pulimood
Another interesting #speaker today @ernakulathappantemplecomplex .
Sri.Mani.A.Pulimood …”A” stands for Alexander.
He is a management consultant, business man and much more. He was asked to speak by his classmate , temple Vice President Sri.Pradeep.
Topic - Government structure in #ramayan
His #lecture had a flow. No theatrics. No raised voices. Or flaying of hands. Just a cohesive flow of ideas in a composed tone.
He started off by saying that there are 7 levels in an ideal government - unbiased head of state,
well informed and good intentioned advisors,
armed force to bring about peace internally and externally,
treasury which can be asset / information stronghold ,
taxation department,
a machinery to feel the pulse & voices of the citizens
and strong external affairs department.
He explained that all these #seven are mentioned in an ancient Sanskrit text - #arthashastra by Kautilya.
But this book is far “younger” than the epic Ramayana.
Sri. Mani conclusively proved that these 7 structures existed during Rama’s era by pointing out a soliloquy. The audience (including me) realised this small oft-skipped para had so much importance only after the talk.
He finished his speech well within the #timelimit . Something I have come to #appreciate a lot.
He apologised for the splattering of English in his speech.
I particularly found his “എന്നായെന് വച്ചാൽ” instead of the chaste #malayalam “എന്തുകൊണ്ടെന്നാൽ” very endearing.
It was all in all a very #refreshing talk.
Short and to the point. #calm
His reply: Thank you very much.Thank you for forwarding the photograph. Am happy that you found in it a natural flow of the concepts. I too enjoyed the preparation for the talk as well the opportunity to present it within the precincts and under the auspices of the Ernakulathappan Kshethram.
Thank you for your appreciation.
