Om shanti, Bhimanna.
Sri.Ramachandran , Administratior of @hanumankovil passed away this evening. They detected #cancer sometime in late April… last stage. #palliativecare was the only #recourse .
Sometimes I #wonder how someone who dedicated his life to service of god can #suffer ?
Then I pacify myself thinking of #ramana Maharishi…. He too used the last part of his life to balance out his #karma and attain #moksha …
Before meeting him in person, I had heard the name Bhimanna a lot at #hanuman #temple and had expected
a six foot heavy built person like his #namesake ! But his name and his built are perfect examples of #oxymoron !😅
In 2016-17 when I ventured into FB lives, Bhimanna was the FIRST person who understood me. I am talking about a time when so many were skeptical about me & my motives. And his #moralsupport & #acceptance has been integral in pushing me on and making others look at me with kinder eyes. #seva
I remember him telling me that everything has to move with the times. Even temples.
The thin bony frame had held a very strong mind.
I will never forget a (low level) employee of Hanuman temple telling me how he never ever misused his power or position. What applied to all #devotees applied to him too. A trait so rare.
His trust in my work, has often been a heavy cross to bear.
I will really miss his genuine smile and quiet voice.
Hanuman temple will not be the same without him.

PS: I have been lucky to interview him long ago (before #ernakulathappantemplecomplex got it’s own YouTube channel & before I knew how to interview people..) He talks candidly about how Guru Raghavendra came to reside in Hanuman temple.
