Sandeep Vachapathi

Today the speaker was Sri.Sandeep Vachaspathy.

I knew nothing about him before Lakshmi Sangeeth started gushing during the state elections. He was the new-gen #articulate #journalist turned #BJP #candidate for #alappuzha. His signature style was his ability to explain to laymen in #plainwords any complicated topic going deep into the root of the problem.

He won hearts but lost the #election . It should not be forgotten that he is young and it was his first election.

When he came to the Koothambalam today for the #karkadaka #lectureseries #bhavayamiraghuramam , it was amusing to see some jostling in the ranks. 

Certain non-RSS traits in him did stand out for me. Must be his journalistic background, I thought. But BJP does not simply choose one as a candidate.

So before he got on stage, I requested a photograph after the event. He said, “Don’t call me Sir. Call me Sandeep.“  

Arre, wah! 

The crowd trickled in once he started speaking. And his speech was quite “open & unshielded”, to put it lightly!

There was a loud #applause at the end. #unusual 

Obviously, he was escorted out with great #reverence by the elders.

I felt a tinge of sadness. I got no photo with him. I pacified myself thinking that he would not have remembered and I am too low in the pecking order for him to bother.

Suddenly, I hear a “Madam, you had asked for a photo with me!”

That moment…The happiness I felt…

“I got into the car and remembered.. so I came back.”

The happiness came out as #aashirwadom ..I did not say it, but I did #bless him. #withallmyheart 

He has a great #future for sure.

This simple act showed a great personality.
