ഉപ്പ് സോട നാരങ്ങാ with a twist

    

I have a special love for ‘uppu soda naranga’… since my uncle introduced me to it..

First time I tasted this refreshing drink was from a ‘petti kada’ near North Railway Station, Ernakulam.

Today I had a ‘new’ version of the drink ‘on the other side’ of  Injathotti Suspension bridge…the longest hanging bridge in Kerala.

Made with the fruit covering of jathi pathri or nutmeg and gooseberry, it is spicy as kanthari chilli is added. No sugar.

The soda pops and the chilli may land in your eye. So wear your goggles!
