₹180 crores

The other day, during tea, there was a discussion of a famous jeweller going public. Since Harish is good at stocks and he keeps a close eye on everything in the market plus reads a lot about it, Finance is one topic he knows. He talks only if he knows.

(Very unlike me. For me, little information is enough of ‘knowledge’! And I can & will talk based on everything from gossip, hearsay to things I actually read!! He and I are diametrically opposite that way!🤣)

Anyway, getting back to the stocks, Harish mentioned that the public listing generated ₹ 180 crores for one of the chief shareholders. 

So, Ananya asked him, how many generations he thinks can live on ₹ 180 crores?

We decided a minimum of 6 if invested properly and used wisely.

The next day, Ananya talked about an apartment for sale in heart of London. View is the London Eye. Very near the House of Lords. 

Price : ₹170 crores!

I was amazed that it was not even a piece of land, but a residential property high up in the sky. I just mentioned,”That would leave just ₹10 crores. Not enough to furnish.”

And the next day, I get a forward from my friend. A lady was getting blind and her treatment was costing ₹10,000 per session. It had her account number and a voice recording, seeking help. She wanted enough eyesight to just be able to thread a needle as stitching a single blouse would get her ₹20 from the tailor.

Think. Maybe we do not have ₹180 crores. But at least we have ₹20 and eye sight.

This is what I said to Ananya. And now I say to you.

When you aim, look at the ₹180 crores listing and the apartment in London. 

But if you fail remember the woman whose only aim is to get ₹20.
