Writing Mutual

The right words are #humbled , #thankful .
As I had mentioned in an earlier post, I love to document.

I have written about #iyer #rituals ..most of the Shodasa Samskaras or the 16 rituals from before #conception to #death and some more like our #ganapathy #homam #sumangaliprarthanai etc…
These are with photos for easier understanding. I have explained the various #mantras , significance of articles used and rituals. For doing this I had to eat the head of many iyer #priests & I am called “question mami” by some!! (I can live with it!)
The comment section on my #blog has so many thanking me and lauding my effort.

But the biggest surprise was @ana.scribe getting in touch with me and saying “Hi Anuradha! I wanted to reach out to you because I discovered you through your excellent blog. I'm actually an author, soon to be published internationally in a wedding anthology of short stories called MY BIG, FAT, DESI WEDDING. I just wanted to say that your blog was the best (and I mean, literally the BEST) resource I found as I was researching Iyer weddings for my short story. It is a literal gold mine, with beautifully detailed explanations of each and every ritual, and it is better than anything else I found online as I struggled to find the most accurate explanations. I referred to it a million times! Since your blog was the biggest help to me in the writing of my story, I wanted to personally thank you and also ask you for your permission to include you in my acknowledgements for the story? Because without you, I never would've been able to do it!”

She need not have. But she did!!

It is #printed & she called me her #writingmutual ! 🥹

So… I am humbled, thankful & a little confident about my ability!
